Review & Giveaway
Attention Readers: This post will be discussing the menstrual cycle.

Seventh Generation director of corporate philanthropy, Sheila Hollender, gave all of her friends gift baskets of their feminine care products during the month of February, including tampons made with 100% organic cotton. She wants to encourage women to take care of their bodies by finding out what’s in the products they use. Seventh Generation supplied me with a gift bag of their natural feminine care products, and have generously offered a gift bag for a lucky winner. You can learn more about their feminine care line here:
So…Let’s Talk Period! Oh what fun to was to hit puberty! NOT! As a teenager in Junior High most of us had “The Talk” with our mom about what was in store for us as we grow older. Truthfully, I didn’t like the idea of bleeding. Um…what…I am going to BLEED and that’s supposed to be NORMAL? NO WAY! When my period first arrived (oh so many years ago) it was a love hate relationship. Half the time I didn’t keep track of when my last period was, so there were many times it arrived unknowingly. GREAT! Learning how to put a tampon in was not top on my list. It scared me. I didn’t want to shove something up “there.” However, wearing a pad wasn’t the best either. I felt like I was back in diapers. Thank goodness times have changed… new tampons and pads are now available…different sizes, styles, etc.
Most women know what fun is in store for us every 28 days (give or take)…but do you know what your tampons or pads are made of? Honestly, I never thought about what they were made of until I received my gift bag full of Seventh Generation feminine hygiene products. These products are chlorine FREE and the tampons are made of organic materials!

Now that I am older, I have been very good about tracking my menstrual cycle. I haven’t had a chance to use these products…but I will update you on my likes and dislikes when that time of the month arrives.
Just based on visual appearance, I like the Seventh Generation rounded tip on the applicator.
Seventh Generation panty liners are thicker and soft to the touch.
Just looking at these 2 pads, I can tell that the Seventh Generation pad will hold more and not leak!
Do I know what my tampons and pads are made of? My old tampons are made up of rayon and/or cotton fiber blend…huh? and/or? Do they not know what they are really made of? Not to mention the applicator is said to be made up of flushable, biodegradable cardboard. I don’t know about you, but I will not flush an applicator. That just spells disaster to me. Brand X is not a bad choice…just not the BEST choice. I couldn’t tell you want my panty liners are made from…there is NOTHING on the package. As for my regular pads…oh, they are made with a “cotton-like” cover…WHAT! Okay…I’m sold on Seventh Generation, because I do know that my Seventh Generation tampons and pads are safe and effective.
