I am so excited to introduce you to a wonderful company called RoomMates. What are RoomMates? Well, they have many names... wall stickers, decals, wall appliques... but this company calls them RoomMates. They are a fun, fast, easy way to decorate your room (with the luxury to remove easily if you change your mind or want a new look).

Kira is almost 2 years old...and we have been slowly transforming the nursery into her TinkerBell Toddler Room! The room was already green, so we didn't really need to repaint. All we had to do was paint over the squares/border that went around her room, a few words and a couple of pictures that my mom & sister painted on the walls. Originally we were going to paint a picture of TinkerBell directly on her wall, but the wall is not smooth and painting on it is not ideal. So I searched the web and found RoomMates! I was so excited to find the Tinker Bell Giant Wall Decal ($20.49)...I was even more excited when RoomMates offered the decal and border to review! As soon as it arrived, we began the transformation of Kira's room. Thank goodness RoomMates has such a wonderful customer service. They noticed on Twitter that I said we just painted and were about to put up the stickers. They immediately Tweeted back to me and told me to wait at least one week before applying the stickers. THANK YOU!

Here is part of the e-mail I received from RoomMates:

We advise waiting at least one week to allow fresh paint to cure before applying any wall decals, borders, wallpaper, or anything else you may be applying directly to the wall. We’ve run into issues in the past with fresh paint causing our peel & stick borders to lose their adhesive qualities or even fall off the wall. The reason for this is that the sticky backing of our decals needs to really “grip” the surface of the wall, and fresh paint doesn’t allow this to happen. I would definitely suggest waiting at least a week. Easy to use...just peel & stick!

Step 1: I put the torso of TinkerBell on the wall above Kira's bed.

Step 2: I lifted up the skirt and lined up the legs so they would go under the skirt just a little (because I felt it looked the best slightly overlapping...not necessary...personal opinion). Since RoomMates are reusable, repositionable, and removable...I had no problem adjusting the legs to fit perfectly with the torso.

Step 3: I added the head and right wing. It lined up perfectly.

Step 4: I added the left wing. Super easy and fast. 

 Step 5: Add flowers & butterflies any where you want!

Due to my bumpy wall, I did have to make sure I really rubbed to make sure the sticker adhered to the wall. About an hour later I notice the right wing was coming off (as I did not fully press the entire wing on the first time)...and all I had to do was press it back to the wall. It's been up now for a few days and the sticker has not peeled off. It will be there until we decide to move it or change Kira's room decor.

The next day I had my husband put up the border (because I am short and didn't want to get the step ladder...plus he likes participating in decorating Kira's room). Again...this was super easy and fast! He just peeled off the back and lined it between the wall and ceiling. We both agreed that this was WAY EASIER than the wallpaper border we put in Logan's room!
